Dwayne Johnson, the 40-year-old wrestler-turned-actor, tweeted that he was undergoing surgery in his pelvic region. The star of the new aptly named action film "Pain & Gain" notified his fans that he "saw [his] Dr [sic] who had to push my intestines back thru the tear in my abdomen" on Sunday.

Will the Lehigh Valley, Pa.-native wrestle again? He recently lost somewhat of a grudge match against wrestler John Cena earlier this month in Bergen County, N.J. Citing "fun pain," Dwayne Johnson said the major hernial tear he suffered through was likely a byproduct of the memorable fight between him and Cena at the Wrestlemania event.

"In the middle of [the] Wrestlemania match I tore my abdomen & abductor muscles off the bone," the Rock tweeted. "Just part of the job."

In the Pain & Gain film, he plays the all-too-familiar role of a barbell-crunching body builder, however he was unable to attend the premiere due to his injury. While he was recovering at his home, director Michael Bay apologized to the fans in Johnson's stead.

"[He] needs to grow up and stop wrestling 300-pound men," Bay said.

Following his surgery, The Rock posted on Twitter a photograph of the wrestler in his hospital bed wearing a Superman shirt and striking a menacing pose as if he was already preparing for his next match.
