Elon Musk is named in a batch of documents related to disgraced financier and abuser Jeffrey Epstein's schedule, with a record from 2014 noting he was set to travel to an "island."

"Reminder: Elon Musk to Island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?)" reads the entry from Saturday 6, 2014. The document is part of a broader schedule from Epstein released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee on Friday.

The documents also claim that Epstein met with Peter Thiel, a venture capitalist and major Republican donor, and Steve Bannon,. They dined with him in 2017 and 2019, respectively. "It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world," said Sara Guerrero, spokesperson for Oversight Committee Democrats in a statement.

"Every new document produced provides new information as we work to bring justice for the survivors and victims. Oversight Democrats will not stop until we identify everyone complicit in Epstein's heinous crimes." Axios highlighted that the documents don't mean the men committed any crimes.

Republicans, who didn't get a heads up before the documents were published, accused Democrats of "cherry-picking" the documents and concealing others that would involve members and associates of their party. A spokesperson for the Oversight Committee's Republicans added that Democrats are "politicizing" the investigation. Another aide said the committee will release unredacted calendars, call logs and cash ledgers from Epstein's estate after redacting the names of the victims.
