Its official, the defending National Champions of college football are in trouble. Just a little over an hour ago, Florida State University, the 2013 NCAA Football BCS Champions, announced that Heisman-winning quarterback Jameis Winston will not play the entire game against ACC rival Clemson on Saturday. The announcement comes just days after FSU suspended Winston for the first half of the game after yelling an obscene phrase while standing on a table at the student union on campus. After heavy debate, further investigation and public outcry over what suspending their star player for only thirty minutes really means, FSU decided to change their punishment.

“Based upon the results of the continuing investigation of Tuesday’s incident involving Jameis Wintson, we have decided to not play him for the entire game against Clemson on Saturday night,” read a statement from the school.

The news has huge implications that could shake up the College Football world. FSU is the reigning national champion and this is the first year that college football will have a four team playoff to decide the national championship. Every game is important as every squad will do their best to be in that final four selected by the Playoff selection committee. Many college football experts believed Florida St. could make it to that final four this season if they could just get past one team on their schedule, you guessed it, Clemson.

Florida State is currently the #1 ranked team in the country according to the Associated Press, while Clemson is #22. The only loss for Clemson came in their first game of the season to #13 ranked Georgia. Whenever you have two, top-25 ranked teams playing in any given week; it’s a big game with national title implications on the line. Needless to say, without Winston, the Seminoles odds of defeating Clemson have now been greatly diminished.

Throughout the day yesterday, many pundits of Winston’s original punishment believed that the university was being too lenient on their star player. Winston who has a history of off-the-field issues is also currently under investigation by the school for a sexual assault incident that occurred last year. The original punishment by the university of only “half” of a game was portrayed by many as a weak statement by the team. By suspending Winston for only a half the team was essentially saying to the public that “we want to teach Winston a lesson, but we don’t want to lose the game.”

The university therefore needed to come to a strong conclusion: either suspend Winston for the entire game, or don’t suspend him at all. Ultimately, by the news released late Friday night, they chose to suspend him for the entire game. More than likely FSU could have squeaked past Clemson if Winston was able to have a big second half, but now, without him, and the decision coming less than 24 hours before tomorrow night’s kick-off, the outcome of the game is in doubt.

At the time this article was written, all sports gambling sites and Las Vegas oddsmakers had pulled the game from their books. Before the announcement on Friday night, Florida State (with Winston for one half), was favorite by 14 points.

“Were in charge. It’s our team. That’s our thought,” said head coach Jimbo Fisher. “We went with the consequences and we’re ready to move on.”

Backup quarterback Sean Maguire will start in Winston’s place. He has never started a college football game in his career to date, but will have tremendous pressure to carry on his shoulders come Saturday night.

“Fisher told me to be ready and said that the game plan is not changing, this team is not changing, we’re going to go out in the first half and do everything we usually would,” said the sophomore quarterback. “He had all the confidence in the world in me. He expects nothing to change just as so do I… It’s a cliché answer, but it’s true: Nothing really has changed this week.”

Winston was suspended for yelling out the phrase, “F&%* Her Right In The Pussy!” The phrase, is an internet sensation said by a prankster who goes by the name of “Fred.” Fred hails from Northern Kentucky and became an internet sensation when he pretended to be an eyewitness to an oil spill. The reporter asked him what he saw and he turned to the camera and said, “I was sitting on my front porch, having a nice cold beer, and I f&$#$% her right in the pussy.” Fred apparently got the inspiration from the line for from this FOX news reporter in the video below who did not know he was live on the air when he told his cameraman that he would F$%& the 20-year-old girl in question that the story was about.

Fred’s catchphrase has now become a very popular meme in the internet community and has spread like wild fire throughout college campuses. Thus the reason Jameis Wintson decided to get on top of table at the student union and yell is as loud as he could.

“First of all, I want to apologize to the university, my coaches and to my teammates,” he said. “I’m not a ‘me’ person, but in that situation, it was a selfish act, and that’s not how you do things around here.”

The videos for the original “F&%$ her right in the pussy”, memes can be seen below.
