Last night on "Game of Thrones," Tyrion Lannister stood trail for the murder of King Joffrey Baratheon in episode 6 "The Laws of Gods and Men." HBO

“Game of Thrones” premiered the sixth episode of Season 4 and the main focus of last night’s episode “The Laws of Gods and Men” was the trial of Tyrion Lannister. Tyrion Lannister was charged with the murder of his nephew and King, Joffrey Baratheon. At the now infamous, “Purple Wedding” Joffrey choked to death while clawing at his throat and pleading to his mother, Cersei Lannister. Immediately after the young King’s heart stopped beating and his face turned an eerie shade of purple, Cersei, his mother and Queen regent of Westeros, accused Tyrion of poisoning and killing the King. This lead to Tyrion’s immediate arrest, after 4 weeks of waiting fans were finally able to watch the trial of Tyrion Lannister in “The Laws of Gods and Men.”

However, after realizing that a fair trial was not possible, Tyrion, seeking his final attempt at freedom and justice, demanded a trial by combat.
