Gavin Newsom Calls JD Vance a 'True Psycopath' Over Post Claiming ICE Officials Are Being Attacked In Minneapolis

California Gov. Gavin Newsom called Vice President JD Vance a "true psychopath" for claiming in a social media publication that ICE officials are being attacked in Minneapolis following the killing of Alex Pretty on Saturday.

Vance said in his post that he "heard a number of crazy stories" while in Minneapolis and focused specifically on one.

"A couple of off duty ICE and CBP officers were going to dinner in Minneapolis. They were doxed and their location revealed, and the restaurant was then mobbed. The officers were locked in the restaurant, and local police refused to respond to their pleas for help (as they've been directed by local authorities). Eventually, their fellow federal agents came to their aid," he recalled.

He went on to say that the story is a "taste of what's happening in Minneapolis because state and local officials refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement."

"They have created the chaos so they can have moments like yesterday, where someone tragically dies and politicians get to grandstand about the evils of enforcing the border. The solution is staring everyone in the face. I hope authorities in Minneapolis stop this madness," Vance concluded.

Newsom slammed Vance after the publication, claiming it was seeking to justify "the shooting of an innocent VA nurse."

The governor of California has also called for Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem to resign and for Border Patrol head Greg Bovino to be fired.

In another social media publication, Newsom said there should be "no new funding" for ICE and made a series of demands after the incident.

"Suspend the LAWLESS mass deportation raids nationwide NOW — ICE is no longer just deporting dangerous criminals. Send the border patrol back to the border. End the militarization of ICE + the sick racial profiling. End the perverse cash incentives that are bounties to perpetrate Trump's cruel agenda. Require thorough, real background checks for everyone, and 2+ years of training before even setting foot in the field. INVESTIGATE and PROSECUTE every single federal agent who is breaking the law," he said.

Democrats were already seeking the impeachment of Noem, and new reports are noting that calls are increasing and efforts will increase if the doesn't resign.

More than one hundred Democrats have now signed to co-sponsor articles of impeachment against her. The articles in question, introduced by Rep. Robin Kelly, accuse Noem of three counts: Obstruction of Congress, Violation of public trust and Self-dealing.
