"Gotham" will return to Fox for a third season and thanks to the production team, we now have got an idea of who will be added to the roster for the upcoming season. According to TV Line, "Gotham" is on the search for its own version of Vicki Vale.

There is apparently a casting call out there for a character going by the code name "Valerie" who is "an ambitious young journalist." While this sounds like the character, Vicki has also been linked romantically to Bruce Wayne but that will not play out in this version of the story as Bruce is still a teenage boy and "Gotham's" Vicki Vale will be in her late 20s.

Previously, Vicki Vale was portrayed by Jane Adams in the 1949 serial "Batman and Robin" and Kim Basinger in the 1989 feature film "Batman."

It will be interesting to see what kind of role Vicki will play in "Gotham" Season 3, as she is largely known for reporting on the Batman and his activities and the masked vigilante has yet to taken form.

Meanwhile, "Gotham" executive producer John Stephens spoke to Comic Book Resources about which villains will make appearances. Stephens mentioned a handful of villains including The Mad Hatter, Talon and more.

"We'll be seeing Mad Hatter in Season 3. We'll be seeing the Tweedle Brothers, too, if we're going to bring the Hatter in. In line with the Court of Owls, we'll be seeing Talon. And, we should be seeing Solomon Grundy," Stephens said.

TV Line has more specifics on those potential villains, including one who "learns people's secrets and manipulates them to do his bidding" and a mysterious lady who "who uses her sexuality to entrap men."

"Gotham" Season 3 will return to the network in the Fall of 2016. If the series follows trend, it should premiere mid-September.
