Koreatown hit-and-run kills 90-year-old Joo Yoon. Help LAPD identify this dark gray GT-R. LAPD

A Nissan GT-R was responsible for the hit-and-run of a 90-year-old man in the Koreatown of Los Angeles. LAPD has released footage of the terrifying incident in hopes to identify the driver that fled from the fatal accident.

The LA hit-and-run occurred at the intersection of Virgil Avenue and 6th Street at approximately 5:10 a.m. on April 27. 90-year-old Joo Yoon was riding his bicycle across a marked crosswalk when a dark gray or gunmetal GT-R accelerated from the intersection and collided into Yoon.

In a moment of panic, the driver of the GT-R eventually fled from the scene moments following the fatal accident, leaving Yoon lying on the pavement. Medics rushed to Yoons aid and escorted the 90-year-old to the hospital. Sadly, Joo Yoon was later pronounced dead.

Although Joo Yoon rode his bicycle on a marked crosswalk, the slow-moving elderly man was a sitting duck in the middle of the road moments after the lights had already turned. What's more, the video footage was recorded by a second vehicle stopped at the light. It is highly likely that the second vehicle obstructed the vision of the man in the GT-R, causing the driver to move forward under the assumption that the road was clear. Realizing the imminent collision, the second vehicle frantically sounded the horn to alert Yoon and the driver of the Nissan GT-R to no avail.

LA Police have released footage of the incident in hopes to identify the driver of the Nissan GT-R. According to reports, the GT-R is dark gray and is distinguished by a 3-inch wide white racing stripe on both sides of the sports car. The stripes extend from the front fender to the tail lights.

The driver of the car is an Asian man in his mid-20s, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and 190 pounds. LAPD asks any individual possessing information of the vehicle or the driver to please contact them.
