Meghan Markle managed to win Prince Charles’ heart with a hilarious story. The incident took place at the future king’s 70th birthday celebration last year.

In the book “Charles At Seventy,” royal author Robert Jobson revealed how the Duchess of Sussex made Prince Charles laugh at the expense of his younger son, Prince Harry. While at the party, Prince Harry was giving a speech about his dad when he got interrupted by a bumblebee.

“Behind Harry, Meghan carried herself perfectly,” Jobson said. “She shared a joke with a humble Prince Charles and Camilla about a bumblebee that attacked Harry at the podium.”

After sharing the story with Prince Charles and Camilla, the three royals ended up laughing. Months before Meghan and Prince Charles’ encounter, the two royals also managed to bond with each other when the latter walked the former down the aisle.

At the last minute, Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle, Sr., was unable to attend her royal wedding because he reportedly underwent surgery following a heart attack. Prince Harry asked his dad if he could walk Meghan down the aisle, and he immediately said yes.

In the documentary “Prince, Son And Heir: Charles At 70,” Prince Harry revealed how he asked his dad for the huge favor. “I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming and he immediately said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs and I’m here to support you,’” Prince Harry said.

“For him, that’s a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he’s our father so of course he’s gonna be there for us,” he added. Since then, Meghan and Prince Charles have reportedly forged a wonderful relationship with each other.

In fact, the future king also has a unique nickname for his daughter-in-law. Sources revealed that he calls Meghan “Tungsten” because he sees her as someone who is very strong.

“Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy,” a source told Daily Mail. “It’s become a term of endearment,” the source added.
