How Prince William Sought For Kate Middleton’s ‘Replacement’ After Their Second Breakup

Prince William said something outrageous after he broke up with Kate Middleton in 2007. A royal author revealed how shocked Prince William’s friends were when he suggested that he was looking for someone to replace Kate just shortly after their breakup.

Prince William and Kate started to date in 2001. They had been together for about a decade before they tied the knot in 2011. However, they went through a major bump in their relationship sometime in 2007, when Prince William suddenly ended their relationship to Kate’s distress.

According to author and broadcaster Vicky Ward, Kate was heartbroken after Prince William called it quits, but it’s a different story for Prince William. Shortly after their breakup, Prince William allegedly told his friends that he wanted to “sow his wild oats,” suggesting that he actually had plans of pursuing someone else after Kate.

“He talked to friends such as Tamara Rosenberg during this time and basically expressed his confusion,” wrote Ward. “On the one hand he loved Kate and wanted it to work. But he wanted to be sure he’d explored all his options. As he told a source, ‘I think it’s a good idea to sow my wild oats,’” she added.

Luckily for Kate, Prince William discovered that the other woman he intended to pursue had someone else in her life and wasn’t interested in him. According to royal correspondent Richard Kay, Prince William didn’t expect that he would find it hard to get a replacement for Kate.

Royal biographer Andrew Morton revealed in his book “William And Catherine” that their 2007 breakup was a storm that had been brewing for a long time, brought about by Prince William’s unwillingness to commit. While he thought that he could do better after his split with Kate, he realized very quickly how much he had lost when he separated from Kate.

“William saw pictures of Kate coming out of Boujis or wherever without a care in the world,” said a source. “Quite frankly, he didn’t like the idea of another guy enjoying a roll in the hay with his girl,” the source added.

It was reportedly after their 2007 breakup that Prince William realized what he really wanted in life. Following that realization, he renewed his romance with Kate, and they made a pact of commitment to each other. “A kid from a broken home finds love, affection and warmth in a stable, steady family,” said the source.
