How William And Kate ‘Positioned’ Themselves To Find A Balance Between Royal And Parental Roles

Kate Middleton and Prince William previously faced a huge challenge in trying to balance their roles as parents and as members of the royal family. But throughout the years, the royal couple has successfully carved out space for themselves so that they could lead private lives.

In the documentary “Kate: The Making Of A Modern Queen,” royal author Catherine Meyer said that one of the biggest challenges that royals, particularly the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, face has to do with empathy: “To do what is seen as being their core role of performing a charitable role and maintaining something they are clearly set to do which is redefining how much of themselves they make public.”

Meyer also said that Prince William and Kate have gone against the tide in an attempt to maintain their privacy at a time wherein social media is extremely popular. Despite the advent of social media, the royal couple controls how much the public knows about them.

For instance, Prince William and Kate’s three children are able to live their lives away from the paparazzi. Their photos are usually shared online only after Kate takes them and shares them on Twitter and Instagram. According to Meyer, this is a very clever thing to do, and it could benefit the Cambridges in the long run.

In recent months, Prince Harry and Meghan have been accused of hiding their son from the public. This is because they rarely share photos of him online. They also kept Archie’s christening a private event.

But Prince William and Kate know how to balance their kids’ personal and private lives. Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’ christenings were not as private as Archie’s baptism. More photos of the royal siblings have also been released throughout the past couple of months.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also introduced all three of their children shortly after they were born. But Prince Harry and Meghan waited two days before they stepped out in public with their son.

However, it must be noted that Prince William and Kate are the future king and queen of the United Kingdom and all the other Commonwealth realms. This means that the public would really want to have more access to their private lives.
