Authorities say that anti-ICE messages were found on shell casings following a shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas.
The Associated Press reported that Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said that the shooter opened fire from a nearby apartment rooftop.
The FBI called the shooting an "an act of targeted violence."
"Early evidence that we've seen from rounds that were found near the suspected shooter contain messages that were anti-ICE in nature," Joe Rothrock, special agent in charge of the Dallas field office, told the AP.
This morning just before 7am local time, an individual fired multiple rounds at a Dallas, Texas ICE facility, killing one, wounding several others, before taking his own life. FBI, DHS, ATF are on the ground with Dallas PD and state authorities.

No law enforcement officers were injured in the shooting which occurred as a group of detainees were being transferred Wednesday morning, Fox News reported. However, at least one detainee was killed in the shooting and two others were injured.
Fox News reported that the gunman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the shooting in a post on X, adding that authorities were investigating potential motives. However, Noem noted the current atmosphere surrounding ICE operations around the country.
"While we don't know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop," Noem wrote on X.
FBI Director Kash Patel also posted a photo on X that showed some of the ammo recovered. "While the investigation is ongoing, an initial review of the evidence shows an idealogical motive behind this attack (see photo below). One of the unspent shell casings recovered was engraved with the phrase "ANTI ICE." More updates will be forthcoming," Patel wrote.
