And while Apple's Senior Vice President, Phillip Schiller, has denied claims that the tech-giant is creating a more budget friendly phone, "Despite the popular of cheap smartphones, this will never be the future of Apple's products," said Schiller. Release Date

The most recent claim suggests that the low budget iPhone could be released as early as September 18^th; if rumors are true then the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S would have correlating release dates. According to the source cited by CurrentEditorials, the mid-range smartphone will be a refresh of the existing iPhone to complement the iPhone 5S, but with a new plastic case and a reduced price tag.

Design

And while many originally believed that the budget price would result in a tech downgrade, it seems that is not happening. A source revealed, "Instead of adding another iPhone to its line-up, Apple has decided to refresh the soon-to-be mid-range iPhone 5 with a selection of colors and a reduced build cost, thanks to some well-placed plastic." Meaning that the low budget iPhone 5C could have the same specs as the current iPhone 5, however, Apple has a history of restricting storage options in its lower-end phones.

According to Mac Rumors, the plastic iPhone 5C could be priced between $450 and $550, "which would likely lower the price to $99 or below with carrier subsidies."
