With only hours left until Apple's September 10 Media Event, the rumors are not running low. One of those persistent rumors is that the iPhone 5S will be introduced with a fingerprint sensor and now The Wall Street Journal has confirmed the news ahead of the official announcement. "Placing a finger on a computer or smartphone has long been proposed as a way to avoid the need for passwords to authenticate users of computers and other devices. People familiar with the matter said last week that Apple will include a fingerprint scanner on the more expensive of two iPhones it is expected to unveil Tuesday at an event at its Cupertino, Calif., headquarters."

The Cupertino based tech company purchased AuthenTec, a fingerprint sensor based company on July 2012 for a reported $356 million. WSJ also notes that the eas of use are essential for widespread adoption and the iPhone 5S will be the most high-profile consumer electronic device to have this scanner. Apple is also expected to announce the availability date during its keynote tomorrow, with initial reports targeting a September 20th launch.

Apple is expected to make an announcement tomorrow, September 10, at 10am PT at the event being held on Apple's Cupertino headquarters. Will the fingerprint sensor be enough to make you buy the higher end iPhone?
