A 33-year-old man was handed a 15-year jail term for allegedly trying to blind his girlfriend so that she could no longer look at other men.

The man was identified as Aston Greenwood for attacking a 30-year-old mother. The unnamed woman was left with serious injuries and permanent scarring around her eyes.

Per reports, Greenwood allegedly smashed his way onto the victim’s home in the middle of the night as the latter was sleeping. Using broken glass, the 33-year-old reportedly tried to blind the woman so she could no longer look at other men.

It was also learned that the attack was not the first of its kind. It turns out that the woman had been bullied in the last five years. Greenwood allegedly bullied, terrorized and belittled the 30-year-old woman, accusing her of infidelity although the 33-year-old was allegedly being unfaithful as well.

Greenwood would criticize the woman for her outfit if it was too revealing. Aside from that, he did not allow the woman to use Facebook or WhatsApp unless he was present.

The woman lost track of the number of black eyes she suffered at the hands of Greenwood. She was also scared to report the thug to authorities since she was already threatened if she did so.

Among the messages sent by Greenwood include: "The second I find out you are with someone you are dead...it will end with you in a body bag.

Another one read: "If you tell me you're going to meet someone else…going forward...I’m just gonna come to your house and make sure you never see the next day never mind another person."

In 2021, Greenwood was allegedly banging at her door but the woman asked him to leave. Instead, the 33-year-old thug smashed the kitchen window open and got into the house. He then assaulted the woman, punching and kicking her and even repeatedly hitting her on the head with a guitar.

"You perpetrated a sadistic, viciously brutal and terrifying attack on your ex-partner. Your rage was all consuming and potentially deadly," Judge Manley said.
