The father of missing University of Mississippi student Jimmie “Jay” Lee is appealing for anyone with information that can lead to the whereabouts of his son to come forward. Lee, who was last seen on the morning of July 8, was spotted around 6 a.m. leaving the Campus Walk Apartments dressed in a silver housecoat, a gold sleeping cap and a pair of gray slippers.

Fox News reported that a towing company had removed Lee’s vehicle from an off-campus apartment complex near the Molly Barr Trails in Oxford some 2.5 miles away. Cops were able to recover Lee’s car at the tow yard and brought it over to the state crime lab for forensic examination. Lee is assumed to have visited someone at the apartment complex during the time frame he had gone missing.

A 2-minute video by Lee’s father appealing to the public was released by the police and posted on social media. "I am asking that if anyone knows anything, or sees anything, say something Call, contact law enforcement, just tell them what you know. This is my plea that you help find my child."

Lee’s father added that his 20-year-old son had been working on efforts to provide infant formula to children in a support drive at the time of his disappearance. He is a public policy major at Ole Miss and is described by friends and family as someone with a vibrant personality and a caring attitude. He enjoys being involved in community work and supports projects by the LGBT community.

Oxford Police earlier dispatched K-9 units on the ground within the vicinity of Oxford along with search and rescue teams but it turned up nothing. A dozen search warrants have also been issued and executed by authorities to enable them to question and interview “numerous” individuals that are believed to be connected to his disappearance.

A $1,000 reward was put up by Crime Stoppers for anyone who could provide information on the student’s whereabouts as cops continue to exhaust efforts to locate Lee. Police said they are also open to accepting anonymous tips through social media. Lee is said to be 5-feet 7-inches tall and weighs about 120 lbs with black and blonde hair.
