While Venezuela is still mourning the loss of Hugo Chávez and hoping for a bright future, Justin Timberlake touched upon the event with some comedy on Saturday Night Live.

During his fifth time hosting SNL, Timberlake appeared for a skit dressed as the iconic Elton John and crooned a comical parody of “Candle in the Wind.” With the lyrical change, the normally emotional ballad turned into a hilarious, sidesplitting performance.

The lyrics of his rendition were clever and humorous.

“It seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind, if a candle could pull out two pistols at a press conference. You said the U.S. caused earthquakes and you outlawed Coke Zero. And on your shoulder stood your parrot with a matching red beret.”

Timberlake dressed as Elton John in a bright -- blue sequined jacket with matching blue-tinted oversized glasses and a blond wig to complete the transformation.

It seems as though the SNL skit was just the beginning of a successful show, with appearances by Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Tom Hanks, Paul Simon, Candice Bergen, Alec Baldwin, Dan Aykroyd, Martin Short and Andy Samberg. It seems as though all of this star power lead to highest ratings in 14 months. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Timberlake's episode was the highest-rated SNL since Charles Barkley hosted in January 2012.
