Even though most K-pop idols are hush-hush about their relationships, Kang Daniel and Twice’s Jihyo’s respective agencies just confirmed that they are dating and the male idol has something to say about the news.

This acknowledgement is a huge feat, considering most labels in the harsh entertainment industry often include no-dating clauses in the contracts of their artists or idols. Maybe because of this, Daniel reassured his fans that his utmost priority is still his reputation and their satisfaction.

The South Korean news outlet, Dispatch, first reported that Kang Daniel and Jihyo are dating. Instead of claiming these are mere rumors, which is a typical reaction, their respective labels quickly confirmed the news. They released their statements acknowledging the relationship of their idols.

Daniel subsequently addressed his fans personally, posting a message for them through a cafe website devoted to them alone. He promised to take care of the hearts of the fans. Also, he said they are the main reason why he survived all his trials. “Truly a lot happened before I was able to stand on my own now. There were some really tiring times, but what helped me then was my fans, rather than anything else. I want to tell you this,” he wrote in his letter.

He may not have directly mentioned Jihyo in this letter, but he reiterated his care for his reputation and promise that he will not tarnish this. “I will become singer Kang Daniel who always shows you a good image, which I've always considered to be the most important thing... I really, really thank you for being together with me,” he wrote.

On their part, Kang Daniel’s fans can be described as the kindest and most generous, just like their idol. Recently, it was reported that they have donated a total of 10,000 copies of Daniel’s solo debut album, “Color of Me” to the Busan Blood Bank of the Korean Red Cross. This translates to $148,123.80, which is a great amount to promote the cause of blood donation.

The Busan Blood Bank released a statement that read, "We're always lacking in blood, so we thank Kang Daniel's fans for the warm love. We hope their mature fandom culture continues into the future."
