Is Kate Middleton Friends With Prince Harry’s Ex Chelsy Davy?

Kate Middleton was revealed to have tried to be friends with Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy at the beginning. However, the Duchess of Cambridge was initially rejected by Chelsy, so what they had at first was a lukewarm relationship.

Prince Harry dated Chelsy from 2004 to 2010, but it was an on-and-off kind of relationship as they had split and reconciled several times within those years. During those times, Kate was also dating Prince William, so she tried to form a bond with the now 33-year-old Zimbabwean businesswoman when she met her for the first time. But Chelsy at that time was not interested in the offer of friendship.

However, in 2008, Kate and Chelsy were introduced to each other when they were invited to the wedding of Peter Phillip, Princess Anne’s son. According to royal biographer Katie Nicholl, the two women may have different personalities but they never left each other’s side during the party, so they eventually became friends.

In her book called “Harry: Life, Loss And Love,” Nicholl shared how Chelsy and the Duchess of Cambridge struck a friendship at Peter Phillip’s wedding. She narrated that it was also the time when Prince William and Prince Harry’s girlfriends met Queen Elizabeth for the first time. And as they want to impress the Queen, their nervousness made them closer.

“The Queen was pleased to meet her and Kate who had been dating William for nearly eight years at that point,” Express quoted the biographer as saying. “It was the first time either had navigated such an important social occasion and they were keen to make a good impression particularly in the presence of the Queen.”

It was also said that Chelsy and Kate really made an effort to be friends since Prince Harry’s then girlfriend is also friends with Pippa Middleton, Kate’s sister. While there were reports that state that Chelsy and Kate have never been friends, this was further proven wrong when the businesswoman was invited to Prince William and Kate’s wedding in 2011 and she attended the big event.

Prince Harry did not end up with Chelsy and married the former “Suits” actress Meghan Markle in 2018. Now the media has turned its attention to the Duchess of Sussex and created rumors that she and Kate are feuding. However, they seem to be getting along really well as in-laws.
