"Killer Women" premiered on ABC last night, and attempted to convince us that no one would notice this gussied up young lady walking down the aisle at a wedding holding a huge gun. ABC

Well after last night’s series premiere of “Killer Women,” it seems like the show, which is produced by Sofia Vergara won’t be a killer for ABC’s ratings. The series is now being described as “killer bad,” but could it really be that bad after only one episode? Well, apparently, yes. “Killer Women” follows Tricia Helfer of “Battlestar Galactica” as Molly Parker. Parker is one of the few female officers apart of the prestigious Texas Rangers, an Austin based law enforcement team. While ABC has been seriously pushing the Sofia Vergara connection, the series showrunner is Hannah Shakespeare. Shakespeare who is best known for her film “The Raven” in 2012 revealed that she attempted to create a western feel in the modern day with “Killer Women.” "I read tons of true crime, so that's what excited me when I read 'Killer Women,'" says Shakespeare. "The second element is I'm really drawn to westerns.” The concept behind the series is that each week, Parker will tackle one case a week, which seems conveniently systematic for an officer of the law. Every single case on which Parker assigned has a “Killer Women,” the lone female officer will then have to decipher exactly what and why each woman decided to kill.

In addition to the overly predictable plot line, Parker has her motivation to become a “Killer Women,” why are we not surprised? Parker is in the midst of a brutal divorce, as she attempts to navigate her personal life, far away from her abusive soon to be ex-husband, Jake. Not soon enough though, because this dilemma will serve as Parker‘s moral compass when approaching each murder investigation. Regardless of Helfer’s horrible southern accent which according to the Hollywood Reporter appears only intermittently, her role is so cliché. Upon flipping the channel I already knew the bad hour of a TV I was about to subject myself to, I could actually feel my feminism melting out of my ears. She’s a tough Texas Ranger by day, and gets abused by her husband by night. Why? So she can learn from other women in her situation and build the strength and courage to finally leave her once sweet and loving husband Jake. See I figured it out already, and spoiler alert I turned off the show even before it was over. The first case Parker finds herself engaged in seems like a simple task of connecting the dots, considering the murder takes place at a wedding, and prepare yourself for the real shocker; the “Killer Women” dons nothing more than skin tight red cocktail dress and sky high stilettos while shooting the female victim in the head at the altar.

Does any other women out there feel a bit jilted? A little bit annoyed? Because I certainly do, I know for sure that if I was ever so emotionally disturbed to prepare to murder someone in cold blood on their wedding day, the first thing I would do was pull on my Louboutins, because I want to look good for my crime spree! I know it’s on cable TV and I should probably be used to this horribly type cast and stereotypical female roles, but where are the real “Killer Women?” I am tired of the ”Desperate Housewives,” of “Mistresses” and especially “Devious Maids.”
