A gunman who shot Lady Gaga's dog walker and stole the singer's two French bulldogs prompted the Los Angeles police to search for the suspect.

Lady Gaga, who is in Rome this week to work on her upcoming movie, offered a $500,000 reward for the safe return of the dogs in the wake of the shooting with "no questions asked."

Los Angeles Police Department identified the dog walker as Ryan Fischer. The victim took the dogs for a stroll at around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday when unidentified suspects tried to take the two dogs away from him.

Alarming footage from TMZ shows that the dog walker refused to let the dogs go. Hence, assailants lifted a semi-automatic pistol and fired a single shot at Fischer. The unidentified men grabbed Gustav and Koji, two of Gaga's three dogs. They fled the scene using a white-colored Nissan sedan.

Fischer got injured and cried for help while cradling the third dog close to him. Later, a person took the dog from Fischer's arms to console him while waiting for the responders. Paramedics arrived on the scene and rushed the victim to the hospital.

On Thursday, an LAPD spokesperson told ABC7 that they haven't talked to Lady Gaga or her staff to confirm if the singer owned the dogs.

The spokesperson noted that French bulldogs are in high demand and are a very precious breed. In Los Angeles, other robberies of French bulldogs have recently been documented. It was unlikely that Lady Gaga was deliberately targeted, police said.

Two of the offenders who left the car were identified as men between the ages of 20-25 by the LAPD. They identified the armed suspect as having blond dreadlocks and wearing a black hoodie. The other guy has black pants on.
