Despite winning 4 times this season, World No. 1 golfer Tiger Woods failed to find his game and a rhythm at last week's United States Open held at the famed Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Finishing the four-round event 12 shots behind winner Justin Rose after posting a career major tournament-worst plus-13 score, Tiger Woods continues to struggle at major championships since winning the 2008 U.S. Open.

Though he hasn't been able to win his 15th career major championship, Tiger's romantic relationship with Olympic champion skier Lindsey Vonn seems to be doing extremely well as she continues to support him at each event he plays in, including the recent U.S. Open where Woods finished in a tie for 32nd.

Lindsey Vonn - who continues her preparation for the upcoming 2014 Sochi Olympic games - recently spoke with reporters about her continued relationship with the 37-year-old professional golfer and while there are certainly high moments, Vonn wasn't shy about proclaiming that she's not just another celebrity girlfriend.

"Some people seem to forget that I'm not just Tiger's girlfriend," Vonn said to the New York Times. "I'm actually a successful athlete. I'm Lindsey. I have my own career and my own life. I can be normal by myself, no one notices me. But wherever he's around, we're living in a fishbowl. I didn't quite know what I was getting myself into. It's weird. But it's just something I have to deal with. He has his job, and I have mine. I just have to get used to it.'

Vonn divorced former husband and coach Thomas Vonn in 2011 and made her relationship with Woods public last March. While she knows there will be many people who don't agree with her dating Tiger given his past acts of indiscretion, the 28-year-old gold medalist wants naysayers to know that she doesn't care what they think, noting that she's happy with her current relationship.

"I'm not an idiot, I try not to look but I see what people say about me on Facebook," Vonn said to reporters. "I see other things written. But I don't care. I learned a while ago from my divorce that my happiness is the most important thing. That's all I can control. And right now, I'm happy."

Vonn also revealed that while her life has become significantly more complicated since she announced her relationship status, there are no regrets about the decision to partner up with Woods despite the fact that she'd never been to a professional golf event before she and Tiger became an item.

"I'm at a golf tournament, aren't I?" Vonn said. "When was I ever at golf tournaments before? I kind of like him, can you tell? It's worth it."

Currently rehabilitating her surgically repaired right knee, Vonn said it's been nice to have Tiger around for support during her rehab considering Tiger played through the entire 2008 U.S. Open with a damaged A.C.L. Woods converted a birdie putt on the 72nd hole to force a playoff with Rocco Mediate where he'd eventually win following a grueling Monday playoff round and while there is mutual understanding and sympathy between the athletes for their past and present injuries, they normally don't share tips on each other's professions.

"I don't give him a lot of feedback about his golf game," Vonn said. "We talk golf after his golf rounds, but mostly I listen. We really are normal in that way. Lots of people go home and talk to their wife or husband about their job. That's what we do. He's had A.C.L. surgery, so right now I talk about my rehab. He knows what I'm going through. The guy won a U.S. Open without an A.C.L."

Though Lindsey Vonn admits that she'll need to get used to constantly being in the public spotlight whenever she's with or around Tiger Woods, it does appear the skier is happy in her relationship with Tiger Woods. Moving forward, expect to see Vonn at every PGA Tour event TW is participating in as long as she's not training for her own profession.
