People were left puzzled after a mysterious silver unidentified flying object (UFO) was spotted in the sky over England.

On Juky 10, the UFO was spotted glistening in the sky near Bristol, reported Mirror. The shiny object, which appeared to have a string-like detail hanging from it, was snapped by a local resident in North Filton.

David Leahy, who took the photos, said that he was about to get a Chinese carryout when he spotted the mysterious object, according to BristolLive. He noticed that a few people were taking photos when they saw him taking some pictures.

The object seemed to have an S-like shape in one of the images. It could potentially be a foil 2 or 5 shaped helium balloon which often feature in children's parties. They are quite big and are becoming more common as ways to make birthdays, anniversaries and stag parties more "Insta-friendly."

Leahy said that it was probably just a weather balloon, but "you never know! It was ascending slowly I think." According to him, there were "no sudden movements, so probably not Extra Terrestrial!"

This month's apparent UFO spotting was not the first time a mysterious object was seen in the skies above Bristol, and it seems like it won't be the last.

In 2021, two separate UFO sightings apparently took place. They happened in the space of 30 hours in the skies above Kingswood. At about 7.20 p.m. on July 17, 2021, the first sighting was made by Claudiu Ilie from his flat. He clicked and then filmed a strange silver object. It appeared to be very high in the bright blue early evening sky.

The following day, the second sighting took place at around 10 p.m. Martha Thompson, 12, and her dad Graeme saw a mysterious object in the sky from Chase Road in Kingswood. Just above the houses, the girl filmed a circular orange light in the dusk sky. It didn’t move, but when it disappeared, Martha captured on camera a silver object. It was streaking away high into the sky.

World UFO Day was on July 2, and it seems to be good month for UFO-spotting.

UFO Festival

A highly awaited US intelligence report on dozens of mysterious unidentified flying object sightings said most could not be explained, but did not rule out that some could be alien spacecraft. The report made no mention of the possibility of -or rule out - that some of the objects sighted could represent extra-terrestrial life. The military and intelligence community have conducted research on them as a potential threat. Photo by Patrick T. Fallon/AFP via Getty Images
