A man reportedly beat his father to death after an argument ensued between them over missing goats in Ganighasa village, Sundargarh district, Odisha, India on Monday, Oct. 24.

The deceased man, identified as 48-year-old Suresh Munda, took his goats and cows out for grazing at around 10 a.m on Monday, Oct. 24. After leaving his goats out for grazing, Munda went to the nearby country liquor shop, consumed alcohol, passed out, and did not return back home, the Times Of India reported.

Hours after Munda went with the goats, his 19-year-old son Akash realized that Munda had not returned home and went out to search for him. While looking for his father, Akash found Munda sleeping on the road behind his home.

When Akash asked his father where the goats were, he told Akash that he had left the goats in the forest to graze. Munda's response angered Akash and in a fit of rage, he started brutally beating Munda with a stick. After brutally thrashing him, blood oozed from his head and Munda collapsed onto the ground.

When Akash told his mother about it, she ran to the spot and informed locals about the incident. The locals rushed to the scene and took Munda to Lahunipada CHC for treatment. However, Munda was declared dead at the hospital, the Times Bureau reported.

Following his father's death, Munda's elder brother Mintu Munda, 52, lodged a complaint of murder at the Lahunipada police station against Akash. Police officers seized the body from the CHC and nabbed Akash from the forest on Tuesday, Oct. 25, and a case has been registered against him under Section 302(murder) of the Indian Penal Code(IPC).

In a similar but unrelated incident, a man bludgeoned his father to death after the elderly patriarch asked him to stop playing loud music at night in Lakha village, Ludhiana, Punjab, India on Monday, July. 11, as previously reported.

The accused, identified as Karam Singh, 25, regularly engaged in heated arguments with his father Jagroop Singh Jupa, 55, over petty issues. On Monday, July. 11, at around 9:30 p.m., Karam started playing loud music. Since it was too late and their neighbors had already gone to sleep, Jagroop asked Karam to turn off the music. Following this, the father-son duo engaged in a heated argument which soon turned physical.

As their fight escalated, Karam picked up a wooden log and charged at Jagroop to attack him. When Jagroop ran outside the house, Karam chased behind holding the log in his hand. He later caught up with him and bludgeoned his father to death on the spot.
