A man reportedly killed his father and dumped his body in a sugarcane field for objecting to marrying his girlfriend in Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, India.

The accused, identified as Gaurav Kumar, 25, a police officer by profession, reportedly had a heated argument with his father Sudesh Pal, 52, after he objected to Kumar marrying his girlfriend. Enraged, and in a fit of rage, Kumar picked up an iron rod and hit his father on his head with the iron rod on Oct. 16, the Times Of India reported.

After murdering his father, Kumar packed his father's body in a sack, carried it to a sugarcane field, and dumped it in the field on the outskirts of the Shabka village in Baghpat district.

The incident reportedly came to light after Kumar's mother Vimla Devi approached the police station and filed a missing person complaint on Oct. 17 after her husband Sudesh did not return home, News18 reported.

A preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that the accused cop Kumar was also absent from his duty for the past several months. Further investigation revealed that Kumar, who had a tiff with his father over his marriage, had killed his father and dumped his body in a sugarcane field on the outskirts of the village.

The officers reportedly found the victim's body from the sugarcane field on Oct. 18. Following this, when the officers questioned Kumar, he allegedly confessed to the crime. Kumar was arrested and a case has been registered against him under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 304 (culpable homicide).

In a similar but unrelated incident, a man allegedly killed both of his parents with a shovel for not allowing him to get married in the Hamirpur district, Uttar Pradesh, India on Monday, March. 7, as previously reported.

The accused, identified as Shyamu Singh, reportedly frequently had heated arguments with his parents Lallu Singh, 67, and Maya Devi over his marital status. On Monday, March. 7, as the three erupted into a similar confrontation, Singh, in a fit of rage, picked up a shovel, bashed his parents with the instrument, and murdered them before proceeding to flee the scene.

The suspect was last seen on Monday morning, March. 7, roaming the village alone. Later that day, he went to the home of one of his neighbors and informed him that he had killed both his parents.

The neighbor immediately alerted the Police Control room and informed other villagers about the murder. Following this, they rushed to Lallu’s house and found the couple’s bodies lying in a pool of blood.
