Meghan Markle, before she became the Duchess of Sussex, was a television actress. She was relatively unknown, except for those following the American legal drama television series “Suits,” where she was a regular.

As a television actress, and not doing movies before she married Prince Harry, Meghan used to be ignored by designers because, according to a friend of hers, she “wasn’t A-list enough.” Daniel Martin, Meghan’s make-up artist friend, shared how she was practically ignored before she became royalty. “There were times when designers wouldn’t send her anything because she wasn’t an A-list actress or she wasn’t doing movies,” Martin said.

Today it’s a different story because Meghan is now considered a style icon. This is not because designers and fashion stylists are clamoring to get their hands on the duchess. If Meghan is looking great, it’s all her own doing.

Meghan is her own personal stylist and is even looked up to for her unique fashion sense. In fact, clothes quickly sell out after she’s seen wearing them.

Martin shared that Meghan has always had an innate sense of her own style and that he is happy that people can see that. “She doesn’t have a stylist, everything she wears she picks herself,” he said. “No stylist. It’s pretty incredible that she can manage all of this.”

As a global fashion icon, Meghan has established her own royal style since she became the Duchess of Sussex. One of Meghan’s friends told People that except for her wedding, Meghan does all her own makeup, she dresses herself and she styles herself.

As the fashion-aware public has always observed since Meghan came into the limelight, Meghan is known to love comfy getups composed of loose shift dresses and a simple pair of flat shoes. Her simple, elegant and comfortable look seems to inspire a lot of women.

As her own personal fashion stylist, Meghan opts for her favorite designer brands, such as Birdies, J.Crew, Mother, Barbour, Misha Nonoo, Finlay & Co., Club Monaco, Rough & Tumble, Aquazzura, Veronica Beard and Ralph Lauren. When she wears these items in public, the sales of these brands skyrocket and quickly go out of stock, making the duchess a legit fashion influencer.

Fans of Meghan also notice her clear, dewy, pretty skin. The secret to her glowing beauty is actually budget makeup. Martin revealed to E! Online that the royal duchess swears by the power of Eucerin’s Aquaphor as a highlighter.

Seems like Meghan, with her success as a fashion icon, wouldn’t be hiring a stylist anymore. Her unique, comfortable style already sends a statement: when it comes to beauty, she can very much manage all by herself.
