Mexican influencer Marianne Gonzaga has reemerged on social media after spending eight months in jail for the stabbing of her ex-boyfriend's new partner, and she is charging up to 137,000 Mexican pesos, or over $7000, per collaboration.

On February 5, 2025, Gonzaga, then 17, allegedly attacked her ex's current partner, Valentina Gilabert, in Park Pedregal, Álvaro Obregón, CDMX. Gilabert suffered between 13 and 15 stab wounds to critical areas like the neck, thorax, face, hand, and lungs. Under Mexican juvenile law, the maximum sentence for serious offenses by minors like Gonzaga is five years, but attempted femicide could elevate the legal stakes, depending on prosecution and legal classification.

After five months in prison and an unspecified settlement between families, she was released in July 2025 on "assisted release." Her defense has leaned toward self-defense and lack of intent, though details of any plea or agreement remain undisclosed.

In a slideshow posted to her Instagram on August 16, Gonzaga announced that "After some very difficult months, today I choose to start over, with humility, responsibility, and a heart full of lessons. I'm going to seek professional help, heal, grow, and never get lost again."

She clarified that she had no social media restrictions as part of her probation, and she has continued her influencer career since then, posting travel blogs and editing tips. Upon her return, she not only resumed posting to TikTok but also dramatically raised her influencer prices.

🤠#CapCut

Before her incarceration, a TikTok story cost $429, a TikTok video $1287, an Instagram story $456, an Instagram post $858, and an Instagram reel $965. Reels on Instagram went for $1395, while a combined Instagram and TikTok reel was priced at $1609. Story sets were $1180, event appearances $429, and "day of call" appearances $644.

Now, Gonzaga's rates are much higher. A premium full-package that includes a TikTok video, an Instagram reel, stories, paid promotion, and 20 to 30 days of exclusivity now costs $6436, or $7348 if purchased separately. Mid-tier bundles that combine stories, TikToks, and reels range between $3647 and $4559, depending on exclusivity and campaign duration. Monthly digital-image usage also comes with a price tag: $805 for basic use, $1609 for full media rights, and $1341 for brand exclusivity.

Gilabert publicly announced that she forgives Gonzaga, as "She personally apologized to me...Everyone deserves a second chance," but social media users remain skeptical. The top comments on Gonzaga's comeback post on Instagram read, "There's no treatment for psychopathy," and "I don't know what's worse; that there was no justice or that there are people who support you and justify that you almost took a life 😳."
