A Mexican man donated a kidney to his girlfriend's mother - but was dumped less than a month later.

Uziel Martínez, a teacher from Baja California, has now become the internet's heroic lover after he revealed his heartbreaking love story as part of a TikTok trend.

In a series of clips, Martínez explained how he helped save his ex-girlfriend’s mother by giving her one of his kidneys.

"I donated a kidney to her mother, she left me and got married a month later," he said in one of the clips.

The video attracted over 14 million viewers and has made national headlines in Mexico, according to The Mirror.

Netizens are rushing to offer their sympathy to the "great gentleman".

One person commented: "Don’t look so sad, she lost a great gentleman. Keep moving forward and find the perfect woman who appreciates you."

Responding to the comments on his viral post, Martinez said that he was healthy and past the heartbreak.

"Actually I’m fine, I’m fine emotionally, I think so is she. I have nothing against her, we are on good terms."

"We are not friends, but neither do we hate each other. I only did it to make a TikTok. I didn’t think this was going to get out of control."

Another netizen jokingly requested Martinez not to make the same mistake again.

"We just have two kidneys and if I already gave one, I only have another one for me, so … I can’t feel it," he said.

Another story of heartbreak that recently went viral was of Courtney Copenhagen, a freshman at Michigan Technological University, who took to TikTok to share the horrifying moment when she found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her with his stepsister, who sent her a video of them having sex.

Lip-syncing along to singer Ed Sheeran's song "Don't," Copenhagen, captioned her TikTok video posted on Dec. 31, "And I never saw your stepsister as a threat, until she sent me a video of you two having sex, of course."

In the follow-up videos, Copenhagen explained that when the stepsister sent her the footage she was having a meal with her boyfriend's (Mitchell) mom.

She said she was in shock when she unwittingly showed the video to his mom who was "even more in shock, she kind of just went out of the restaurant."

She explained that in the video the stepsister was on top of her boyfriend and the two were completely naked. Copenhagen added that her boyfriend and his stepsister have been siblings-by-marriage for more than eight years.

Her TikTok tell-all video was viewed 6.5 million times. The 18-year-old said she never dreamed that her post would go viral and it’s overwhelming for her.
