House Speaker Mike Johnson claimed Donald Trump has the highest presidential approval rating in history, despite polls indicating historically low numbers.

"Look, the president is the most maligned and attacked political figure in the history of American politics; there's no question about it," Johnson said during a CNBC interview Friday. "But, he's also the most resilient."

"At the same time, his approval ratings are skyrocketing," Johnson continued. "CNN had a story a day or two ago, he was at a 90% approval rate. There's never been a president that high," he added.

Johnson was seemingly referencing a poll that found 88% of Republicans approve of Trump. Additionally, the president with the highest rating remains George W. Bush, who had a 90% approval rating in September 2001.

In reality, the latest Economist/YouGov poll reported a 55% disapproval rating for Trump, a record high for his second term, while his approval rating stood at just 41%
