A man from Florida who had gone missing last week was found dead by Volusia County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday. Bobby Scott, 63, was reported missing by his husband when he did not come home after an entire day last week. He was last seen leaving his home in Daytona Beach on Jan. 17.

Investigations led to the arrest of 20-year-old Michael Harris, who was said to have met Scott on a dating app. In his arrest affidavit, Harris said Scott and his husband were in an “open relationship where they could date outside their marriage”, the Orlando Sentinel wrote.

Scott had agreed to meet Harris in person last week and no one had heard from Scott since. His financial records showed no evidence of purchases or any financial activity since he went missing.

According to Fox6News, detectives said the victim met with Harris that same day after connecting through the app. A couple of days later, authorities found Harris in possession of Scott’s vehicle in Deland at which Harris told them Scott loaned it to him and has not seen Scott since the day they met up. Detectives contacted Scott’s husband who said Scott never loaned his vehicle to anyone.

Evidence recovered from the victim’s vehicle revealed bloody fingerprints which were later identified by police belonging to Harris.

On Sunday, police found Scott’s body in the 2900 block of Old New York Avenue in DeLand. The Sheriff’s Office said they have sufficient evidence to link Harris to Scott’s murder.

Harris was arrested without incident and was taken into custody on Saturday while detectives are still actively pursuing leads to the case. While an online court docket showed no attorney information for Harris, he has been charged with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.
