With the Liga MX Apertura playoffs set to begin, eight of the top teams in the ultra-competitive Mexican League hope they're able to do enough to walk away champions of one of the most entertaining circuits in professional soccer. While a majority of the attention around the soccer world focuses on leagues such as the Barclays Premier League in England and the Spanish Primera Division, Liga MX contains some of the top coaches, players and team in all of soccer. The league also produces some of the best international figures as well, including Javier Hernandez, Oribe Peralta, coach Miguel Herrera and loads of other top talents, further legitimizing it across the globe.

Four quarterfinal match-ups are set for the upcoming playoffs, with each two-legged showdown holding a significant entertainment value. The 3 vs. 6 match-up featuring León and Morelia could easily turn out to be the top series of the opening round. Though Morelia is seeded in the bottom half of the field, The Michoacan should feel good about their chances of advancement given the fact that they'll enter the quarterfinal after claiming the Copa MX title. Taking down Atlas by way of a shootout victory last week, Morelia hopes to continue solid play against a León team that may suffer from fatigue given the fact that three key players recently finished up their duties with El Tri.

The attack line for Morelia - led by Aldo Ramirez, Hector Mancilla and Jefferson Montero - doesn't need extra incentive to play well. This trio is capable of scoring against any defensive unit it faces and with Luis Montes, Rafa Marquez and Carlos Pena perhaps tired from the long World Cup Playoff trip to New Zealand, the opening leg of the quarterfinal could prove to be a big time showing for Morelia, if they're able to capitalize on the aforementioned issues facing their quarterfinal enemy. A fast start will be crucial however, since the opponent possess ability on the offensive end as well, with León's Mauro Boselli already registering 11 goals in Liga MX competition this season.
