A recent poll revealed a growing discontent among Americans towards President Joe Biden's leadership, with a majority disapproving of issues such as his handling of immigration, inflation, and the economy. This sentiment has even permeated the Democratic Party, with many of the party's own supporters advocating for a challenger to emerge in the 2024 presidential primary.

The poll, conducted by Yahoo News/YouGov, found that a majority of potential Democratic primary voters want to see someone other than President Biden run for the party's nomination in 2024.

Concretely, the poll found that 54% of potential primary voters believe another candidate should challenge Biden, while only 28% say it is not necessary. This suggests that the president could face a serious challenge to his re-election bid if a strong contestant emerges. So far, Congressman Dean Philips has announced his intention of competing with Biden in de Democratic primaries.

The survey revealed that a majority of Democratic Hispanics (63%) and Whites (53%) would like to see a Democratic contender challenge President Biden in the upcoming election. Black voters were less enthusiastic about the prospect, with only 47% supporting another Democratic hopeful.

The survey also reveals that, in general, American voters disapprove the Biden administration on key issues affecting life in the nation.

White voters were the most likely to disapprove of Biden's performance on inflation, with 65% saying they were unhappy with his efforts to control rising prices. Hispanics also more likely to disapprove than approve, with 61%, while 43% of Blacks say they are dissatisfied.

This number is consistent with recent polls, which have shown that a majority of Americans are dissatisfied with the state of the economy. With regards to this issue, the poll revealed that a majority of Americans (59%) disapprove of President Biden's handling of the economy.

Among racial groups, White voters were most likely to disapprove, with 64% expressing dissatisfaction. Hispanic voters also expressed disapproval, with 57% disapproving of Biden's economic leadership. Black voters, in contrast, mostly approved of Biden in this case: 61% approved and 39% disapproved.

The issue of immigration remains a contentious one for the current administration. The YahooNews/YouGov survey reveals that a majority of Americans, 59%, disapprove of the way President Biden is handling the issue. The figures are particularly high among White Americans, at 65%. Most Hispanics (56%) also disapprove of Biden's handling of immigration, while the percentage of Black Americans who believe this is below half, with 40%.
