The Need for Speed Rivals release date is November 19, 2013. EA's next generation arcade racing game is nothing short of visually stunning. With only a little more than a month away from the official Need for Speed Rivals release date, EA has released its latest trailer, which also features some real-time gameplay footage.
The recipe for NFS Rivals is the same as any of the previous classics in the Need for Speed franchise: cops and robbers. While the gameplay of rivals isn't anything that hasn't already been done before, the visual depth and the drama lends to a much more enthralling experience. The latest trailer features impossibly beautiful driving environments in the desert, in snowy mountains, winding tunnels, and lush forests. NFS Rivals is, in a word, beautiful.
As is the case in past games in the franchise, gamers can choose to take on the role of cop or street racer. Cops are armed with an arsenal of tooks including back up and spikes strips to immobilize the outlaw. Street racers are tasked with avoiding it all in a banzai run to the finish line. In order to mix things up just a little, NFS Rivals also throws down tougher challenges, including "taking down six racers" or "drifting 500 feet," for cops and outlaws, respectively.
