Netflix has announced a new cartoon of the popular character He-Man that will be a continuation of the original series “Masters of the Universe.” The new animation project will be helmed by Kevin Smith.

In a message on Twitter, Netflix announced that the title of the cartoon will be “Masters of the Universe: Revelation.” The plot will be about the battle between He-Man and his nemesis Skeletor, and this is expected to be their final fight.

Smith also announced the new project during a panel discussion at Power-Con 2019, CBR reported. Powerhouse Animation, which is known for the hit series “Castlevania” series, will be working on the new show with Smith as the showrunner.

The main focus of the plot appears to be on the character Teela, who is the captain of the Royal Guards. According to the official synopsis, Teela will be tasked with solving the mystery of the Sword of Power that goes missing after a big battle between the forces of Eternia and the villains from Snake Mountain.

“Masters of the Universe: Revelation” will be about Teela going on a journey to uncover the mystery of the sword and stop the world from ending. The plot will finally reveal the secrets of Castle Grayskull, which is the source of He-Man’s powers.

The events in the upcoming TV series will pick up right from where the original series left off. This makes the upcoming show the sequel to the original series that has taken 35 years to make.

The familiar characters on the show will be He-Man’s trusted companions Man-At-Arms, Cringer, and Orko. Skeletor will be joined by his underlings Evil-Lyn and Beast Man. Details about the other characters may be announced in the coming months.

Details about the casting and production have not been announced as of this writing. A release date for “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” is expected to be announced when the production begins.
