Spanish designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada made history presenting her fashion collection in Nicaragua. The 58-year-old entered the fashion world in 1981 and has quickly made her mark in the fashion world.

According to FOX News Latino, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada presented her collection on the final day of Nicaragua Design 2016, the country’s biggest fashion show.

Hundreds of fashion professionals were in attendance as the designer unveiled at least 30 articles of summer clothing, including many trendy bathing suits.

"I'm really happy...I brought a small summer collection," Ruiz de la Prada told EFE minutes after her presentation.

Along with being a fashion maven, Ruiz de la Prada is also Spanish royalty. She is the 12th marchioness of Castelldosrius, Grandee of Spain and the 19th baroness of Santa Pau.

In 1991, Ruiz de la Prada licensed her brand and expanded her line to include men’s, women and children’s fashion, ceramics, toys, shoes, linens, makeup and so much more. She has stores located in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Santo Domingo and exhibitions in Tokyo, Paris, Moscow and Bucharest.

Over the years, she has gained notoriety as a promoter of the “Movida Madrilena” artistic and Cultural Revolution in the 1980s. And now all of her work is paying off.

The collection has recently been shown in New York and in other Central American countries. Ruiz de la Prada is set to show the collection in Mexico and Peru in the coming weeks.

Ruiz de la Prada was the special guest at the event along with other designers from Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Spain, the United States, Honduras and the Dominican Republic who have shown off their creations at the historic event.

Nicaragua Design also showcases dozens of designers who display their work in different fields such as visual communications, painting, plastic arts, architecture, product and event design that the EFE observes.
