Leave it to Disney to take on the difficult task of exploring a pre-teen’s mind and emotions. Also, while they were at it, they probably thought, hey, why not make it adorably cute? And bam, they nailed it. Disney’s Pixar seems to have managed to make real and complicated family issues, fun and understanding for both, parents and pre-teens. The latest trailer of the movie premiering on June 19, 2015, is the perfect example how all three members of the family are having a hard time communicating. "Inside Out" also seems to have done a masterful job showing the different perspectives we all have.
The latest additions to the cast are the amazing Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan, who will be voicing 11-year-old Riley’s parents. They are joining the ensemble who will voice Riley’s (Kaitlyn Dias) emotions: Joy, Amy Poehler; Fear, Bill Hader; Anger, Lewis Black; Disgust, Mindy Kaling; and Sadness, Phyllis Smith.
Writer and director Pete Docter is the father of an 18-year-old son and a 16-year-old daughter, so let’s just say, he knows what he’s talking about. He also explains how important the roles of the parents are, to understand their perspective as well and since Riley is seen through their eyes throughout the movie. "I started out doing a film about growing up, but it turned out it's a film about me watching my kids grow up. These parents are realizing that their kid is changing. That's difficult. But it is a part of life."
