Pedro Pascal is looking at yet another big name in entertainment, following The Last of Us, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones.

According to a source close to the production, he is currently in final discussions to join the cast of Ridley Scott's upcoming Gladiator sequel. Deadline first broke the news today.

His character's specifics as well as the sequel's storyline are being kept under wraps. If a deal is finalized, he would join already announced cast members Barry Keoghan, Denzel Washington, Paul Mescal, and Connie Nelson.

Season 4 of Strange Things premiere IGN has revealed that Joseph Quinn is also negotiating to join the sequel.

Ridley will return to helm the sequel, which is presently scheduled for release on Nov. 22, 2024, from a script written by David Scarpa.

The original Gladiator from 2000 was an enormous success, earning $460 million worldwide, garnering 12 Oscar nominations, and taking home the Best Picture award.

Throughout his career, Pascal has remained active, but these recent years have been particularly significant for him, IGN reported.

He recently finished the third season of Disney+'s Star Wars series The Mandalorian, in which he plays Din Djarin, and just a few months ago, he won a major smash as Joel Miller in HBO's The Last of Us.

Later this year, Season 2 of the adaptation's filming is anticipated to begin.

Pascal recently starred in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent starring Nicolas Cage. She previously made appearances in Wonder Woman 1984 and Netflix's The Bubble.

The short film Strange Way of Life, directed by Pedro Almodovar and starring Pascal and Ethan Hawke, will have its world debut at the Cannes Film Festival and be released by Sony Pictures Classics this fall.

Pascal also appears in Ethan Coen's Drive-Away Dolls, which will be released in September and is produced by Focus Features. Pascal also appears in Freaky Tales, which is anticipated to be released later this year and stars Anna Boden.
