A perverted man from Louisiana has been arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 25, after police officers found sexually explicit material on his computer that contains animals being assaulted and abused.

Kenneth Ord Starling, a 52-year-old man, has been apprehended after police officers’ suspicions of him having inappropriate relations with his pets were proven correct when they found videos of animals being sexually abused on his computer, the New York Daily News reported.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office first got the tip about Starling’s deviant actions when a neighbor filed a complaint regarding his behavior toward animals. It remains unclear what could have provoked such a report to be filed.

Starling, who lives in the Slidell-area of New Orleans, found himself in the receiving end of a search warrant earlier this week, which allowed the police officers to find the offensive material in his computer, according to a St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office press release.

After he was arrested, Starling admitted that he was having sex with two of his dogs. The dogs in his residence were taken in by local animal control after he was apprehended by police.

The police have been shocked by Starling’s actions, with Sheriff Randy Smith expressing his disapproval of Starling’s perversion.

“As a dog owner myself, I find this behavior unthinkable and very disturbing,” he said.

Animal rights have progressed over the years, and in 2019, a bipartisan law was passed that makes animal cruelty and torture a federal crime. It was supported by groups like the National Sheriffs’ Association, who say that animal cruelty and violence are inherently linked, NPR reported.

Under this law, Starling could face a sentence of up to seven years in prison.

This is not the first time Starling has been arrested for a crime: He was charged with drunk driving in 2008, while he got two misdemeanors in 2013 and 2016 regarding violations of public nuisance policies and leash laws, according to WDSU.
