The unveiling of the late Princess Diana’s statue is likely to face challenges—given the raging pandemic—in terms of slashing the number of attendees at the event.

Things were off to a rough start with speculations having run amok about Princes William and Harry’s cold war only intensifying with every passing day. And now, turns out, the brothers have further slashed the original guest count—comprising 100 people— at the ceremony, which is slated to take place at the Kensington Palace on July 1, which could’ve been Diana’s 60th birthday, Daily Mail reported.

The COVID-19 outbreak however compelled an abrupt change of plans, restricting the limit to just the dukes and close relatives of Diana. Reports further suggest that another ceremony is slated to happen in September for those in the royal social circles.

Given how things continue to remain icy between Harry and his family, a recent report in Mirror suggested that William’s wife Kate Middleton has plans to help the brothers put up a united front at the ceremony.

While this marks Harry’s second visit to the UK in the year 2021, not many are hopeful about things getting any better between Harry and his older brother and father. While William and Harry managed to exchange pleasantries at Prince Philip’s funeral, things clearly stopped at just that as Harry seemed to be in no mood to act upon the alleged “peace talks” that ensued between William and him. It was further revealed that Harry displayed no interest in chatting up with his father Charles, despite royal aides believing the latter being keen on it.

The royal rift dates back to the year 2020 when Harry and Meghan decided to step down as working royal members and shifted base to Montecito, California. The couple has settled in quite well in the United States, and are financially independent of the Firm. Harry and Meghan clinched multiple million-dollar deals with streaming giants Netflix and Spotify. The Duke alleged that the decision came by as a result of being “financially cut-off” by Charles after Megxit. However, recent reports indicate Charles continually funding the Sussexes with “substantial amounts” much after they quit the royal household.

In another strange instance, as cited on Page Six, a driver crashed through an LAX fence at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday less than an hour before Harry departed for London. The incident occurred at around 6pm and investigators are yet to zero in on what actually led to it.
