Following the publication of a private letter that Meghan Markle wrote to her father, Prince Harry decided to take on this invasion of privacy and filed a lawsuit against the media outlet that published the letter. While the royals don’t usually have such a strong reaction to a media attack, many are wondering what Queen Elizabeth would make of these developments.

According to royal biographer Penny Junor, Prince Harry’s statement about what happened is “probably very ill judged,” ITV reported. The British royal had called the press reports about his wife these past few months as a “ruthless campaign.”

Junor feels that Prince Harry’s statement would make his relationship with the British media “quite awkward.” The biographer added that in her experience none of the advisers in any of the palaces would have allowed such a statement to be released without adequate scrutiny and consideration about the consequences.

As far as the Queen is concerned, Junor said that she would not approve of such a statement. The royal biographer pointed out that over the years the Prince of Wales too has had cause to respond sharply to media attacks against him and Camilla, but he has never issued a statement like that either.

“I like him a lot and I respect him and I feel very sorry for him because he is wanting to protect his wife and that’s really admirable and I think that he’s gone a bit over the top here,” Junor said about Prince Harry. She also added that even Prince William would probably not have advised him to put a statement like that.

As far as the lawsuit is concerned, the British royals have so far not given any indication that it is going to stop. A source close to the family told People that Prince Harry is looking for ways to protect his wife, and he is apparently worried for his son Archie.
