Sexual assau;t continues to plague the nation with many people becoming victims of the horrible crime. As we recently reported that a Catholic priest was taken into custody over rape allegations, it breaks our hearts to report that another incident has occurred. It is being reported that a 7-year-old Colombian Indian girl has been raped and murdered.

According to FOX News Latino, Colombian police arrested Rafael Uribe Noguera for the rape and murder of 7-year-old Yuliana Andrea Samboni. Samboni, who was kidnapped from a working-class community in the city remains were found in an apartment of the man in custody.

"The cause of death of the minor age 7 was mixed mechanical asphyxiation, corresponding to asphyxiation by suffocation and strangling...Abundant evidence was obtained from the minor's body to prove she was the sexually abused," Carlos Eduardo Valdes director of the Legal Medicine Institute reported Monday night.

The site reports that news of Uribe-Noguera's arrest came from a police officer in a room at the clinic where the suspect, an architect, 38, had been admitted suffering a "crisis," according to a video released by the medical center.

The news of Samboni's rape and murder has shaken Colombia. Due to the brutality of the incident with the suspect taking her to his aprtment where he raped and strangled her, Colombian residents are furious.

Outside the clinic where Uribe had been admitted, crowds of people began protesting on Monday, and on Tuesday morning returned with placards inviting motorists traveling the North Expressway to sound their horns to demand the government give them justice.

Samboni reportedly moved to Bogota with her parents three years ago from El Tambo in Cauca province to escape war conflicts in that region.

Uribe Noguera is currently being held in police custody until his trial begins. So far there is no word on if he will be taking a plea deal or confessing to the crime.
