Rajon Rondo’s camp remains confident that the NBA player did not lay a hand on the woman. However, the same cannot be said for his girlfriend.

A video obtained by TMZ shows footage of the whole incident. The nearest that Rondo came into physical contact with the woman, Toktam Jorshari, was through a nudge. It appears to be accidental with the 34-year-old even trying to help when one of her sandals came out.

But if one goes through the entire video, there seem to be some inconsistencies. Though some audio would have helped, it could be seen that the woman was trying to raise an argument that Rondo and his girlfriend were trying to ignore.

This move turned out to worsen the situation. In the video, the woman continued to say some things towards Rondo and his girlfriend and even approached them. She appeared to have uttered some sweet nothings to the NBA guard’s partner and Rondo tried to separate them but his nudge appeared to be too strong.

But as far as being physically injured, that may have been inflicted by Rondo’s girlfriend and not him. Contrary to her initial claims, Rondo did not (intentionally) push her and was just trying to separate the two. That effort failed.

Jorshari is suing Rondo and his girlfriend for assault and battery, infliction of emotional distress and conspiracy. She is also seeking unspecified damages in excess of $1 million.

The woman is determined to pursue the case and is not open to resolving it. When asked to comment, Rondo’s legal counsel (Mark D. Baute) said that his client did not push anyone.

"The plaintiff and Mr. Rondo’s girlfriend had an unpleasant encounter that lasted roughly 10 seconds, and Mr. Rondo tried to prevent them from any further interaction, which was awkward due to (a) his thumb being broken, and (b) the plaintiff not wearing a mask," Baute said.

It is an issue that stems from a petty parking space dispute. The woman could have approached differently and not uttered some sweet nothings. On the part of Rondo and his girlfriend, they could have offered to move their vehicle temporarily and maybe even give the Jorshari some help.

Alas, those never happened and both are headed into an ugly court battle.
