Juice WRLD died on Dec. 8 shortly after his private plane arrived at the Chicago Midway International Airport. While the exact cause of his death remained unknown since his autopsy is still inconclusive, more details about the events that took place when he landed at the airport have been revealed.

“The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined that studies are required to establish the cause and manner of death for 21-year-old Jarad A. Higgins,” Billboard quoted Cook County medical examiner's office rep as saying in a statement. “Additional studies include cardiac pathology, neuropathology, toxicology and histology. The Office will release a statement when cause and manner of death are determined."

The 21-year-old rapper passed away at the age of 21 and it is now being reported that his private plane was being searched by the police after it landed around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. According to The Daily Mail, the search was done after the Chicago police got a tip-off from the plane’s pilot that Juice WRLD and his company were flying with handguns, 70 pounds of marijuana in vacuum-sealed bags and metal-piercing bullets.

The police were apparently waiting at the Atlantic Aviation hangar so they quickly searched the plane as soon as it landed. After checking out their luggage, they also found six bottles of codeine cough syrup and high-capacity ammunition magazines. It was while the officers were looking into their suitcases that Juice WRLD whose real name is Jarad A. Higgins started to convulse and have gone into a seizure.

Acting swiftly, the agents reportedly administered two doses of Narcan as a countermeasure to opioid overdose. It was said that before falling ill, Juice WRLD was seen swallowing some pills that were later said to be Percocet painkiller. It is believed that the rapper tried to hide the pills from the police thus he downed it in one go.

Juice WRLD was subsequently rushed to the hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois but he died just past 3 a.m. It was pointed out that although the police found drugs in his possession, it is yet to be determined if they indeed played a role in the rapper’s untimely death.
