For the incident involving Orlando Calixte, a player for the Cibaeas Eagles, the Dominican Baseball League penalized the Tigres del Licey RD$50,000 and suspended Ricky Ravelo, son of the current president of the blue squad in the Dominican winter ball, from all institutional activity, said reports.

It was disciplinary resolution No. PL-02-22-23, issued by Lidom. Article 49 of the present Regulations, which states that this sanction is the duty of the team responsible for arranging the music in the stadium where the match is taking place, was applied in order to impose the sanction on the Licey as a team.

The Tigres del Licey subordinate Ricky Ravelo was in charge of selecting the music for the stadium. Ravelo will be suspended until the end of the winter baseball tournament, where he will be recognized for his commitment to Tomás Troncoso Cuesta and the Banreservas Cup.

In a press release apologizing, the franchise, which is based at the Quisqueya-Juan Marichal Stadium, pointed out that "Club Atlético Licey is not racist since players come to the team from anywhere in the world."

In another case, Ravelo was also recently the person involved in an incident with the eagle fanatic when he wrote on his Twitter account “these peasants start asking César Valdez to just do one dirty thing. How ignorant and what a short memory they have.”

The one that Calixte went to bat and put on the song Palito de Coco, was defined by the former eaglet baseball player Luis Poland "as a manifestation of racism that should not be tolerated in the Dominican winter ball ."

He called it a mockery and claimed that the National Baseball Federation (Fenapepro) and the Dominican Baseball League (Lidom) intervened because "it is a shame and it is not correct."

The incident happened during the game on Wednesday, Nov. 9, between the two teams at the Quisqueya-Juan Marichal Stadium, which was won by the Santiago club 4-1.

The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League is a winter professional baseball league consisting of six teams spread across the Dominican Republic. It is the highest level of professional baseball which is played in the Dominican Republic.
