The Red Bull Air Race World Championship has become globally renowned as the fastest and most exhilarating motorsport series on the planet. The initial goal was to create the most advanced aerial challenge the world had ever seen, and the Red Bull Air Race World Championship quickly became a visual spectacle unlike any other. A combination of high speed, low altitude and extreme maneuverability makes the sport accessible only to the world's most exceptional pilots.

This year, the championship takes place in eight locations across seven countries and covering three continents starting in Abu Dhabi, where the competition took place in March, stopping in Spielberg, Austria in April, later in Chiba, Japan in June, followed by Budapest, Hungary in July and Ascot, England in August. Lausitzring, Germany was the September location, and October began with the first race ever in Indianapolis, USA, a city globally known for its motorsport and aviation history.

Over 62,000 fans witnessed the Indianapolis Motor Speedway transform into an airfield as Red Bull Air Race touched down at the iconic speedway for the first time. German Pilot Matthias Dolderer won the debut Indy race, clinching his first World Championship in the process. Englishman and 2014 World Champion Nigel Lamb finished second, and Canadian Pete McLeod earned the third spot on the coveted podium.

In the Challenger Class race earlier on Sunday, Luke Czepiela took the first win of his Red Bull Air Race career. To relive the action at IMS, fans can watch a race broadcast on Sunday, October 9th on FS1 at 8:30 PM EST or catch the race on demand on RBTV starting at 10:30 PM EST.

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship will next head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 15-16 for its season finale. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.redbullairrace.com.
