For the past week, Mazda continues to slowfeed us with new images of its all-new Mazda6 sedan.
According to Mazda, which first previewed its '6' with last year's Takeri Concept, we should expect the 2.0 liter SkyActiv equipped 2014 Mazda6 unveil at the upcoming 2012 Moscow Motor Show while the complete Mazda6 range will make its grand introduction at the later 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The new midsize sedan from Mazda will be its second SkyActiv-equipped model after the CX-5 crossover. The Russian-spec Mazda6 will feature the SkyActiv-G 2.0 liter gas engine mated to a SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. What's more, Mazda now offers its new brake energy regeneration system known as i-ELOOP ("Intelligent Energy Loop"), which promises to improve fuel economy by up to 10 percent in real-world driving conditions.
Finally, the new Mazda6 will also offer the SkyActiv two-stage turbo 2.2-liter diesel engine. Available in two trims for the European CX-5, the diesel is rated at 150-hp and 280 lb.-ft. of torque or 175-hp and 309 lb.-ft. of torque. Both diesel trims are offered with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Stay tuned for more information as Mazda releases details for individual markets in the fall.
