Rolls-Royce, Britain's ultimate ultra-luxe automaker, is looking to expand its Ghost model range by one or two more variants.

In an interview with Autocar, Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Ötvös believes that the company's production "sweet spot" should fall closer to 4,000 units a year, just higher than last year's record 3,538 sales figure. Müller-Ötvös also noted that demand for Rolls-Royce continues to grow ever stronger in China, a successful market whose deliveries have exceeding those of the United States. That said, Muller-Ötvös assures that the expanding Ghost range will not transform Rolls-Royce into a volume-chaser.

Top class quality and craftsmanship remains Rolls-Royce's core. However, Rolls-Royce will not pursue short-run super expensive Ghost vehicles either -- the existing bespoke services already provide clients with enough flexible customization options they desire.

So far, reports have proposed that Ghost-based models will inclue a high-performance Ghost coupe and possibly a drophead as well. More than just lopping off the rear doors, the two-door Ghosts will reportedly sport a shorter wheelbase, a lower and more sport-oriented suspension, and a retuned powerplant rated at approximately 600-hp.

The new Ghost coupes are rumored to carry unique monikers to differentiate itself from the four-door sedan. Expect the new Ghost coupes to debut next March during the Geneva Motor Show.
