Rosie Perez talked about her sexuality at a recent LGBTQ event held by The Trevor Project in New York. Though she claimed she's heterosexual, the actress and TV host recalled the time she had a fling with a woman in high school.

“Every human being, whether they admit it or not, has a moment of doubt. I know I went through that," she said of the moment she doubted her sexuality as a teen, reports People en Español.

She later continued to tell the story of Michelle, a girl she had feelings for in high school. "All I wanted to do was have sex with her. And I suppressed the desire until one day she began to feel the same for me," the 50-year-old Puerto Rican star told the audience.

"The View" host then stated that she's not a lesbian and is in fact heterosexual; however, she emphasized to everyone at the event that she's not the only person to have questioned her sexuality.

"I'm not the only one who went through this period of confusion, I'm not the only one who suppressed these feelings, who hid this story," she said to the crowd. "I didn't have a community or 'The Trevior Project,'" she added, before noting that once her relationship ended with Michelle, so did their friendship and she felt ashamed.

The Trevor Project is an American non-profit organization and leading national organization focused on suicide prevention efforts among LGBTQ youth.
