SEATTLE - After months of slumber, football fans can have something to hang on to until the 2024 season kicks off in September, as the NFL released its schedule for the upcoming season.

After announcing that the champions Kansas City Chiefs will host the Baltimore Ravens on opening night, the league also released its full slate of international games for 2024.

For the first time ever, South America will host a regular season game when the Philadelphia Eagles face the Green Bay Packers at the Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil. It will be the first NFL game to be played on Friday night of opening weekend in more than 50 years, as the league hasn't had a Friday night game in Week 1 since 1970.

This year, the NFL will play games in three different countries. Brazil will get one, England will host three and the international games slate will close with a Week 10 game in Munich, Germany.

For a second consecutive year, Mexico will not be hosting an NFL game due to renovations at Estadio Azteca ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Mexico has hosted regular season games in 2005, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2022 and could return to the international game rotation in 2025 when the stadium is expected to be ready.

After Packers and Eagles battle it out in Brazil, the next stop in the NFL's international schedule will be London. The English metropolis will host games in three consecutive weeks starting on Week 5. The New York Jets will face designated home team Minnesota Vikings while the Chicago Bears will do the same against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both games will be played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the only purpose-built NFL stadium outside of the U.S.

London will host games in two different venues, with Wembley Stadium hosting the New England Patriots and the Jaguars on Week 7.

For the second consecutive season, Munich will also have the privilege to host an NFL game as the New York Giants will take on the Carolina Panthers at Bayern's Allianz Stadium on Week 10.

"We are delighted to announce these exciting matchups across London and Munich, in addition to the historic first game in São Paulo, Brazil," said NFL Executive Vice President, Club Business, Major Events & International Peter O'Reilly. "As the league and its 32 teams continue to prioritize international growth, we look forward to building on the incredible fan experiences seen in Europe while taking the game to new fans in South America," he added.
