After 22 years of her tragic death, Selena Quintanilla will finally receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Selena will receive star number 2,622 in a posthumous tribute that will be held on November 3.

According to the Hollywood Chamber, the star will be dedicated in the category of "Recording" at 1750 N. Vine Street in front of the historic Capitol Records Building. “Since day one of Selena’s selection into the Walk of Fame, not a day went by that we were not asked by fans when Selena would get her star. This day has come and fans from around the world will rejoice in her well-deserved honor,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. “The Hollywood Walk of Fame honor is the only award which fans can share with their favorite icons. Without a doubt Selena’s star will be experienced by millions of her loyal fans for years to come!”

Accepting the star will be Selena’s sister Suzette Quintanilla, and the Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti and actress Eva Longoria will help Emcee while Hollywood Chamber President/CEO Leron Gubler unveils the star.

"This day is finally becoming a reality and we cannot be happier. We are grateful Selena's life has been an inspiration to so many and we hope it will continue to encourage people to follow their dreams," Suzette Quintanilla told to ET. "I'm certain she would've been extremely proud and happy to receive this honor."

"Selena's fans will be showing love and will be excited to be a part of this magical moment in time honoring my sister that will only happen once," she added. "Get ready, Hollywood, for the most amazing fans ever!!"

Recently, on October 17, Google launched a video Doodle to celebrate Selena. The video Doodle explored the story of her life set to one of the most iconic songs: Bidi Bidi Bom Bom. The date also specifically marked the date of Selena’s first studio album release with Capitol EMI (self-titled “Selena”). The Doodle ran in 18 countries for 24 hours. Google partnered with the Quintanilla family to digitize for the first time and launch a Google Arts & Culture Exhibit on that same day.

The “Queen of Cumbia” catapulted to global adoration in the 80s and 90s and is the only Latin female artist to have had five albums simultaneously on Billboard 200. Selena continues to win awards 22 years later, winning Female Artist of The Year at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards. Her top hits include Dreaming of You, Amor Prohibido and Como la Flor, just to name a few.
