Texas Lunchbox Shooter_07232025_1

A Texas man who hid a gun in his lunch cooler before opening fire and killing a co-worker gave a chilling response when asked why he was shooting.

On April 8, 2021, Larry Bollin brought a handgun to his job at Kent Moore Cabinets in Bryan, Texas, concealed inside a lunchbox. After his afternoon break, he pulled the weapon from a cooler and opened fire on 40-year-old Timothy Smith, who died from his injuries before meeting his first child.

Bollin, 31, continued shooting at least 20 more rounds at his colleagues, wounding Walter Vega, Juan Ordonez, Isidoro Leal and Juan Uribe, all of whom survived, KBTX reported.

When his co-worker, Nathan White, confronted Bollin and asked why he was shooting, Bollin replied, "I'll show you why," then reloaded and shot White multiple times, including once in the back as he lay on the floor, a press release revealed.

Bollin fled the scene and was later confronted at his home by a state trooper. He opened fire with a rifle, striking the officer in the left eye, which resulted in the permanent loss of his eye.

On Monday, Bollin was convicted of first-degree murder, fined $10,000, and sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years.
